You Decide What Your AI Can Touch
AI access to a live calendar should be deliberate. WebCalendar gives you the controls.
One-click read-only mode
Not comfortable letting an assistant change your calendar? Turn on Read-Only Mode and the create, update, and delete tools are hidden and rejected outright — assistants can look, but never touch. Off by default, so the choice is yours.
Capability-aware
The MCP server respects WordPress roles and WebCalendar permissions. Private and Confidential events are filtered per user, non-admins are limited to their own events, and every request runs through your existing security plugins and firewall.
Your keys, your server
Authentication uses WordPress Application Passwords — separate from your login and revocable at any time. Your calendar data stays self-hosted on your own site, never routed through a third-party sync service.
Connected in About Five Minutes
1. Enable MCP. It’s on by default. Confirm the AI/MCP Integration setting under WebCalendar → Settings, or open WebCalendar → AI for a status dashboard and self-test.
2. Create an Application Password. Under Users → Profile, generate one for your AI client and copy it once.
3. Point your client at the endpoint. Use https://yoursite.com/wp-json/webcal/v1/mcp with your Base64 credential as a Basic or Bearer Authorization header.
