WebCalendar for WordPress FAQ
Common questions about Agentic Daisy and WebCalendar for WordPress.
About the Plugin
What is WebCalendar for WordPress?
WebCalendar for WordPress is a professional-grade calendar plugin with full RFC 5545 recurring events, interactive month/week/day views, multiuser permissions, iCal and CSV import/export, and holidays for 100+ countries — all in a 3.1 MB package.
Is recurring events really free?
Yes. Full RFC 5545 recurring events — daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, with exceptions and overrides — are included in the free tier. Most competitors charge $99/year or more for this feature.
What PHP and WordPress versions are required?
PHP 8.2 or higher and WordPress 6.2 or higher. We use strict types in every file and take advantage of modern PHP features like enums, readonly properties, and constructor promotion.
Does it use Custom Post Types?
No. WebCalendar stores all event data in dedicated webcal_* database tables. This is a deliberate architectural choice — custom tables scale to 100K+ events without the performance problems that CPT-based calendars hit at a few thousand.
Features & Integration
Can I import events from Google Calendar or Outlook?
Yes. WebCalendar supports iCal (.ics) import for any standard calendar application, plus CSV import for Google Calendar, Outlook, and generic spreadsheet formats. You can also subscribe to remote calendars via URL for automatic syncing.
Does it have a REST API?
Yes — 35+ endpoints covering events, categories, holidays, remote calendars, shared calendars, layers, user submissions, and more. Full documentation is available on our API reference page.
Does it work with Gutenberg and shortcodes?
Both. There are two Gutenberg blocks (Calendar and Upcoming Events) plus a shortcode for classic editor users. The calendar renders interactive month, week, and day views with AJAX navigation — no page reloads.
What about SEO?
Each event gets its own SEO-friendly permalink with Schema.org Event JSON-LD markup, Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags, canonical URLs, and XML sitemap integration. Search engines index your events automatically.
Pricing & Support
What’s the difference between free and paid tiers?
The free tier includes recurring events, multiple calendar views, categories, holidays, iCal/CSV import/export, REST API, and Gutenberg blocks. Paid tiers add features like remote calendar subscriptions, frontend event submissions, shared calendars, booking/RSVP, and priority support.
How do I get support?
Free tier users can reach us via the WordPress.org support forums. Paid tier users get direct email support with priority response times. You can also email info@agenticdaisy.com for general inquiries.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
By default, uninstalling WebCalendar preserves all your data in the database. There’s an opt-in setting to delete all data on uninstall if you prefer a clean removal. We think your data should survive plugin experimentation.
Will there be more products from Agentic Daisy?
Yes. WebCalendar for WordPress is our first release. We’re building additional WordPress tools that follow the same engineering philosophy: fast, well-tested, and genuinely useful out of the box. Learn more about us or follow us on X for updates.
How do I report a security vulnerability?
Do not file security issues publicly. Email security@agenticdaisy.com with a description, steps to reproduce, and the affected version. We acknowledge reports within 72 hours and aim to resolve confirmed issues within 90 days. Full details are in our security policy.
